This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies the www.povestile-tale.ro store, operated by CARTE DESCHISA SRL, uses, and how you can give or withdraw your consent.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small files that your browser stores on your device when you visit a website. They help the site work properly (for example remembering your shopping cart) and, only with your consent, help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
How you give or withdraw consent
On your first visit we show a consent banner. Cookies that are not strictly necessary (for example analytics) are activated only if you press Accept. If you decline, the site keeps working normally.
You can change your choice at any time via the cookie preferences link in the site footer or by deleting cookies from your browser.
Which cookies we use
1. Strictly necessary (no consent needed)
Essential for the store to work: the shopping cart, checkout, account sign-in, security and fraud prevention, your language preference (Romanian/English) and remembering your cookie choice. They are set by Shopify, the platform the store runs on. Examples: cart, secure_customer_sig, localization, _shopify_essential, _cmp_a, _tracking_consent.
2. Analytics and performance (only with your consent)
Aggregated Shopify statistics about how the store is used (pages visited, visit source), which help us improve the site. Examples: _shopify_y, _shopify_s. They do not identify you personally.
3. Functionality: reviews
The Judge.me reviews widget displays and collects product reviews and may use its own technical elements, strictly for its operation. Their policy: judge.me/privacy.
4. Advertising and marketing (only with your consent)
To measure traffic and campaigns we may use, exclusively after you press Accept in the banner: Google Analytics 4 (traffic statistics), Google Ads (conversion measurement and remarketing) and the Meta/Facebook Pixel (campaign measurement). These tools are loaded through Google Tag Manager and are not activated if you decline. The providers may set their own cookies (for example _ga, _gcl_au, _fbp); see the Google and Meta policies for details.
Local browser storage (localStorage)
For useful features we also use the browser's local storage: the wishlist, recently viewed products and the conversation with our AI assistant (which stays only in your browser and disappears when the page reloads). This information is not used to identify you and you can delete it at any time from your browser settings.
How long are they stored?
Session cookies disappear when you close the browser. Persistent ones remain on the device for a limited period (from a few days up to two years) or until you delete them. You can delete them at any time from your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge: the Privacy/Cookies section).
Legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies rely on our legitimate interest in delivering the site you requested (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). All the others rely exclusively on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Romanian Law no. 506/2004 on electronic communications).
